Sporting vibrant orange vinyl upholstery and a brushed aluminium swivel base, the Swan Chair remains the ultimate statement piece of modernist design. Created by the visionary Arne Jacobsen, this chair was part of an exclusive series designed for the prestigious Danish manufacturer Fritz Hansen, circa 1979.

The Swan chair was a breakthrough in furniture engineering, as Jacobsen was one of the first to use a firm, foam-moulded shell under the upholstery to create organic, fluid curves without any straight lines. This piece, with the manufacturer’s stamp clearly visible on the underside, is a masterclass in refined, intuitive design that remains as relevant today as it was at its inception.
